Is it okay to Pray To Win against someone else like in sports?

I don't think it's fundamentally a sin, but I was always raised with the thought that for every jubilant winner, there is always someone who hasn't come first/won and are going to be disappointed, so in answer to this, I don't see it as a sin, but neither would I do it, as you've got to think of the other person, and realize that really you should want to win on your own merit.

That is an interesting reply DianeC. I too have often thought of the one who does not win.
I try to teach my kids to pray before anything like that, but moreso to pray for help to play their best and be a good winner or loser!
