What a horrible story! I wonder if the boy arrested was mental?

| LONGMONT, Colo - Longmont police say a high school student has been stabbed in the back several times with scissors but suffered only superficial injuries. The 14-year-old girl was attacked Thursday morning in a hallway between classes at Silver Creek High School. She was treated at Longmont United Hospital. Police Commander Craig Earhart says she's expected to make a full recovery. Earhart says a 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault. He says the boy is also a Silver Creek student but there's no indication he knew the victim. |

Things like this make me wish I still homeschooled. I am glad that there are people who can do it and teach well at home. I had to take this year off for health reasons and am not sure how it will play out. It just seems there is so much violence in schools these days.

I don't feel that there are enough safety measures within schools, even though there has been masses of cases of violence within schools for years now.
It's certainly not getting better either!
How terrible for this girl, especially when she is supposed to be kept safe within her school building.
I'm glad that it seems she will make a full recovery, and hope that she won't be 'mentally scarred' from this.
