Do you use a discman? In the 80s the first compact mobile units were called, 'Walkmans' which used cassettes, now people use CDs / DVDs. Which one do you think is the best for walking / jogging and general use?
My favorites have always been sony. They made the first walkman and I just stuck with them. I use a Sony Sportman Discman. It costs a bit more because it has super high disc skip protection so you can go running with it if you want. I don't run, but it seemed like a good feature for when I'm cleaning the house and don't like skipping. It reads ahead nearly a minute and a half. I have really tried to skip it, I have only succeeded once.
Yesterday, I bought an RCA CD/MP3 CD player, and it was rubbish. Half the time, when I pushed the buttons to change the files I was playing, the power would turn off, and the unit would lose all memory. I returned it today.
I then bought a Sony CD Walkman, which also plays MP3 files, etc. from CD. I am quite pleased - it only uses one AA battery, has great skip protection, and only cost about $50. My first Discman many years ago cost almost three times that.
My first discman was a sony, and I never had a problem with it, I just misplaced it after having it a couple of years.
I now have just a basic walmart model that is so easy to use it's even okay for a non technical mind like mine! It only cost around $7 or $8, which to my mind you can't go wrong with..even if it only lasts a year.
