Skoullar Introduction

Well, I'm an Iowa farmer that stumbled onto this group while doing a web search. I consider myself RLDS not CoC. I hold the office of Priest. I graduated from Graceland College located in Lamoni, Iowa. AND I hung out with a neat group of friends and we played a fair amount of AD&D.

Also, I'm a NRA Life Member

Introduction Skoullar

Hi skoullar, welcome. Nice to have you here. You say you are RLDS but not COC (Community of Christ)? I thought both were the same. Are we speaking about another branch? We have a thread that deals with RLDS located here:

Looking forward to your posts! If you have any questions, please do ask here.

Well, I was one that didn't agree with the name change. The name "Community of Christ" sounds like a housing development in Corpus Christi, Texas. furious3.gif

Yes, same group. I REALLY disagree with the left tilting stance the Church is taking.

Skoullar Introduction

Skoullar, first of all, "Welcome", I see that I did not greet you before. Now, in reference to your question in the Offended Thread I will explain my perspective on the issue at hand and then you can give me your thoughts.

1. All the LDS Boards are considered Doctrine based from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as it is present day and not any break aways, cousins (as you refer to it), etc. The reason for this is to avoid conflicts on Doctrinal issues. We do not want to have to stop Discussion to wonder if it is based on RLDS, LDS, COC doctrine, etc. Since everything has to be referenced and we do not allow external material. I am sure this is understandable.

2. There are Threads about the RLDS, feel free to respond in those or start new ones in the General Religions Board if you wish.

3. I could open a Board for the RLDS, but as the only Member here that does not make sense so it does not justify the need, not yet. If there were many RLDS here and they wanted a place to Discuss their views then surely I will accommodate that.

Feel free to respond with any concerns you have.

As a moderator, I would also like to add that members of ANY religion group are free to access and discuss LDS related topics (if interested) in the Studies of Latter-Day Saints board.
