Everything is well with my family and I. We are trying to dry out as we had three whole days of no rain for a change. But alas it could not last. We are under a flash flood watch again tonight as we once again have rain in the forecast for the next seven days. I just got my back yard so that there was no more standing water.

If I grew out my beard I look more like a hobo than santa claus even though I may have more of the belly for him.

Well the flooding around Iowa is not getting any better. Today they had to shut down Interstate 35 just south of Ames because of high water. This road way is one of the main arteries through Iowa. They are looking at the possibility of having to shut down Interstate 80 just east of Des Moines due to high water. People in both areas are saying the flooding waters are the worse they have ever seen.

Flooding seems to be prominent right now (USA, my country, Pakistan, China) while elsewhere there are sever heatwaves (Russia). The world's climate is definitely changing and becoming more aggressive and record setting. Just make sure your basement pump is working.

I am glad that I got a bigger sized pump. I would have burned the smaller one out already. This one pumps a lot of water out in a short periods of time. While I still get water in my basement with all the flooding it does not stay there long or get very deep.

Before this new pump my basement averaged 2-3 feet of water every time it rained hard. With this new pump I am averaging less than a foot of water in my basement during some good downpours. IF there is not a good downpour of rain I get no standing water in my basement. I consider a downpour any time you get more than 2 inches in a hour. This new pump failed to keep up with the water one time thus far and at that time we got a down pour of 3 inches in a hour followed by another storm that dumped over 4 inches on us in less than 30 minutes. That was not a fun night.

Yeah I think the earth is changing and telling us that enough is enough. I just wonder how many people are taking heed of this warning.

But I like my chocolate chip cookies and they like me a lot. I think that will be one of the hardest things I try to give up. I do not eat a lot of cakes so that part is good.
