Dimavo's Baby!

Yay! I'm having a baby. We believed I was 8 weeks along with a due date of December 14th, but after a visit to the doctor and my first ultrasound yesterday, the length of the baby tells us we are just over 7 weeks along and the due date is December 23rd. A Christmas baby! But I am kind of counting on it coming early becuase each of my mom's 5 children were at least 2 weeks early. Besides, who wants their birthday to be at Christmas?

Of course, any time would be great for the baby to come, but as it turns out, this baby is coming at the perfect time because I will just be finishing my student teaching, and thus be done with school! woohoo! I will be all ready to be a mom biggrin.gif But it may make for an interesting semester of student teaching...

Oh my goodness, I am so happy for such wonderful news! New babies are such a blessing! We will have Felipe's new brother and your healthy baby to tide us over until I can will someone else to be pregnant! I love living through you amazing women vicariously! I know it is not my time to be a mother.. or a wife for that matter, but I am starting to get very itchy for it. Friends with babies are starting to annoy me! Bless you, I wish everything goes smoothly and that you and the baby stay healthy the whole time!

I'm so happy for you and your hubby, Dimavo. Now, just because your mom had early babies, that doesn't mean that you will. Every woman is different, and every pregnancy is different. So, even if you have an early first one, that doesn't mean you won't with the second, and vice-versa.

Congratulations, Dimavo! We are so happy for you. Christmas babies are great. It's the ultimate Christmas gift. My niece is a Christmas baby. She loves getting presents for several days in a row. We wish you well and pray for a healthy pregnancy for you.

Dimavo's Baby!

I am so pleased at your wonderful news, congratulations to the 2 of you!

If your baby is born at Christmas, at least most of baby's relatives will be off work to join in future birthday celebrations!

My niece was born at Christmas, and she thinks that it is great that everywhere is decorated, that there is never any school on her birthday, and she gets to see all her family!

My Sister always buys her a Christmas present, and then for her birthday present she always buys her a little gift, then a bigger sized outfit or dress for the summer months. My niece always has something to look forward to wearing in the summer then.

I think this is a cool idea for Christmas babies.

You'll definitely guarantee that someone else cooks the Christmas dinner for you this year! laugh.gif

Keep well, best wishes, Diane.

Really? I thought there had to be someting genetic in it. My grandma had my mom early, and my mom said that her grandma had early children. On the other side, my Dad's mother told me that all of her 11 children were pretty much on time or a little late, and same goes for my husband's mom, who had 4 children.

Gosh, that surprises me because everyone I've ever known whose had a Christmas birthday has said they don't like it because people will give them a present and say, "this is for Christmas and your birthday," and because the "specialness" of their birthday is sometimes looked over by others because of the excitement of Christmas. And I surely only meant that I didn't think anyone would choose a Christmas birthday, but maybe some people would, and I just don't know what I'm talking about!

Those are certainly highlights! It is nice to not have school on your birthday, I always enjoyed haveing slumber parties with my July birthday. But ironically, when I was little I remember that I sometimes got a little jealous of the kids whose birthdays were recognized in school, since mine never was. I guess the grass is always greener, huh!

And I think it's a great idea to buy winter-born children something they can enjoy in the summer, because, like you said Diane, they still have something to look forward to! Another option I suppose if your child doesn't like having a Christmas birthday is to celebrate their half-birthday. But that would likely be weird to get started. Does anyone have any experience with that?

Well, we don't have the voting feature on this thread, but anyone is certainly welcome to give their opinion on whether they think I'll have a boy or girl! It would be interesting to see what you guys think. If I remember correctly, in LDS and JB's boy/girl thread everyone voted for a girl but it turns out they are having a boy. Maybe I will have the opposite of what everyone thinks for me! laugh.gif

Dimavo, any morning sickness at all? Not every woman experience it though but I was just wondering if you started having the symptoms.
