Elizabeth Introduction

Hi folks. This is my intro. I have to say it's very hard to write an introduction to a group you haven't even had the chance to explore. Frankly, I'm nervous. I'm LDS and truly hoping this site is LDS friendly and not . . . well . . . not. I spotted a familiar name on the site through an incidental google and had to stop and take a look.

Since I am really not sure who anyone here is or anything but some (almost meanly worded) guidelines on grammar and content I'm not going to offer too much info here. When I feel less in the spotlight and more part of a community I'm sure I'll have lots more to say. But for now, I feel like I'm alone on a brightly lit stage in front of an audience I can't see.

I will say I am dyslexic. I will make spelling mistakes. Some I'll be able to correct with the spell checker and some not. There are times when a spell checker can't even recognize the word I'm trying for. undecided.gif

Okay. Hmm. Well. That's all folks! *exit stage right*

. . .

Well now this board is even scarier and more intimidating than it was before. I put an extra smiley face at the end and a big bold letter message (with words in caps and underlines too!) saying I'm allowed only ONE. That word was capitalized. I sure hope the community here is alot friendlier than the posting rules. If I was allowed another emoticon I'd pick one with a wobbly unsure mouth. Oh well. You'll just have to imagine it.

Are you imagining it?

Elizabeth darling you sound like an old whiner, if you do not agree with the Rules and Policy which you agreed to before joining then simply do not join. Its not like you were kidnapped, forced to register and then blackmailed into posting an introduction. Please!

Oh Attitude!

Thank you for such a warm welcome. I feel much better now. Intimidated newbie, old whiner, what's the difference right?

Actually I'm a writer, and my favorite writing website doesn't have such intense rules. It's a bit of a shock.

I do not get your Introduction, if it can even be called that. It is more like a web critique from a judgmental someone frustrated that they did not take the time to read our Constructive Posting Policy which clearly indicates that you cannot do what you feel you should do.

Everything has a purpose, and yes, there is a purpose to why it is worded like that with emphasis... its for people who join without reading our Policies and then choose to post several smilies and rant in their Introduction.

Additionally, your claim that you do not know the 'group' because you have not explored shows that it is easier for you to be a pessimist rather than simply read all the information available to the public without having to Register. That is your choice.

Lastly, you sarcasm about Attitude's response is laughable, after your introduction what did you want... roses and the red carpet treatment?

Honestly, what is your purpose here?

My whole purpose here is to find out about Dr. Mlotkiewicz.

That's all. I wanted to understand why he was up on a page with general authorities. Was it just because of the snippet in the Church news?

I have a personal connection, and I want to know.

So let me know please. You posted the link, right? Let me know and I'll happily delete myself.

I am deeply sorry if my own nerves touched ya'lls nerves. Please forgive me.

I'm nervous. I've learned from lots of experience that where religion is concerned not everything is always sweet and cheery. And the intimidating warnings put me on the defensive from the start. I am not the worlds best navigator of the net and the pages here are busy and confusing. Despite an hour spent looking around before joining I did not see any other profiles, or intros. I had no model to follow and was not given the choice to come back and write an intro later. I was ushered into it.

My sarcasm was perhaps a poor reaction on my part to name-calling from a stranger. Sorry.

What DO you want to know in an intro? The guidelines said what I shouldn't say, but gave me no examples to follow. I just want to know why there's a prominent post about someone I know.

Thanks.

Now all of this could have been avoided if it was simply posted without all the 'extras'.

My nerves are not 'touched' I am merely setting the story straight, so that others who may have your hyper perspective can learn from it, after all, material here is public. With regards to your question, you asked in that Thread, so I will reply there.

Religion? You placed in your profile that you are LDS, not so? I do not see what that has to do with anything.
