Finally a mother that does more than just talk about it. The school teacher advised the mother that her daughter was bullying. Mom bought the daughter thrift shop clothes that looked like they were from the 80s and made her wear it to school. After that she knew what it was like to be bullied.
Non-violent effective lesson. My compliments to this mom. Sometimes there's still smart people out there that knows how to deal with particular situations like the daughter being described as a bully. I'm sure that this action had a bigger effect on the girl than dozens of conversations. Sometimes is enough to have teenagers understand WHY something is wrong going a step further than just repeat over and over the same "That's wrong" Line.
This is something that other parents may want to look at. The main issue is that there are way too many parents that encourage or could care less if their children bully others. The number of parents who have no real idea what their children are doing in school or out in public is mind boggling.
I think a lot of parents of bullies would rather push it under the carpet rather than admit that their child is in the wrong. I think this is a good lesson from parent to child to owning it! Its responsible and mature!
