A Nassau County sex offender recently released from prison was arrested again after police said he entered a home and got into bed with a girl.

| The Fernandina Beach Police Department announced on Tuesday the arrest of 26-year-old James Walter Scott. Scott was released from state prison on Feb. 4. At about 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 8, Scott unlawfully entered an occupied residence and molested a child younger than the age of 16, the police department alleged. Police said Scott entered the home through an unlocked door and proceeded to enter a bedroom, disrobe and then get into bed with a girl. The victim awoke and resisted the attack, and the suspect fled the home on foot but left some articles of clothing, according to the police department. |
