I think everyone is more or less fake on the first few dates. You'll never know who they are until you've been around them for awhile. Best thing to do if you can is to have some spies, dirty as it is, it tells you the truth about what they do when you're not looking.

Most people on dates for the first few times probably seem 'perfect', but that's probably because people are on their best behavior and out to impress.
It's only as the dates progress that you'd probably see little things that niggle you about the other person, but I still think it's better than going out with somebody a little crazy!
