I do remember this song. How funny and No I don't think I ever knew what she was singing about either!

I was just reading some of the comments while waiting for the video to download and found this....

Another mentioned it was about the Cold War and another said the writer was in concert when he looked up and saw a bunch of air balloons and kind of pictured what the video depicts, like the explosions.
Not sure if they are true but I thought they were interesting.

It was changed to 99 red balloons here in the UK!
I remember it well, when it came out here in 1984, because I remember singing it as a class at school!
I seem to remember it having something to do with the war, but could be wrong on that!
