Yes, "I Wonna Rock" was also written by Twisted Sister. I don't know how popular they became in the UK, but based on their popularity and fan base over here in the UK I certainly wouldn't describe them as a one hit wonder. I went to one of their gigs about two years ago and it was fantastic, the atmosphere was great!

I think twisted sister had some nice songs that helped them stay out of the one hit wonder list. granted "We're Not Going To Take It" may have been their greatest it was certainly not their only hit.

I never listened to them either and yes, he does look like a clown with all that makeup, but at the time it was the 'in' thing for rock bands just consider Kiss, but at least their makeup was more in tune with their ideology. Twisted Sister's makeup is... well... twisted.
