Tai Ji Quan is a style I was introduced to by accident.
When I was young I dabbled in a few arts such as Karate, Ju Jitsu and Lau Gar.
I was posing at home in some cat stance, when a friend of my father told me to have a firmer connection to the ground. The old sailor taught me a style of dynamic animal templates and movement.
It is based on a system similar to Tai Chi, but the forms are faster and applied to self defence and combat.
Knife and stick techniques are taught, and a modern realism is gained by my teacher's experience from all over the world.
My father and him are both in their seventies, but I marvel at their skill of Chi Sau.
(Sticking Hands)
I have only met one other teacher of this style in the UK.
Does anyone know of any schools els where?
