JUNK JUNK JUNK...alway was always will be. Garenteed to break down at every turn and should have been buried at the factory lot. I never knew one that ran right or the front end did not fall off while you watched the fenders rot off.

I owned a ford grand torino and it was a great car for me. I had the model that came with true positrack and I drove it til I busted the rear axle. I did not want to go through the money to rebuild the rear end when I could buy a new used car cheaper. I know the Grand torino took a lot of punishment from me and kept right on going. I know I had all four wheels off the ground in that thing at least 15 times. The only body damage on it was my rear passenger door where someone hit and ran it.

Is this the same car they used in the old TV series Starsky and Hutch?

Yes Jb it was a 1976 model. Here is a link with the specs on that model they drove. Still think it is a rip off on the road runner. Though it could have been the other way around.

I believe that the road runner was a rip off of the gran torino due to the fact the road runner came out after the gran torino did. The gran torino was a nice car and it could take a lot of abuse. I believe that is why they used it in the Starsky and Hutch Tv series.

Not sure if that is why but I do know the Dodge charger was not used in movies for that reason laugh.gif.

I would think the car was used for its looks. If durability was the issue the Impala would have been the real answer for that.

But you could not have two hip young detectives driving a Impala or a Crown vic. Too many police used them. No the Gran Torino was used so they would draw in the younger adults to go and see if their cars could do some of the stunts. smile.gif
