The journalists will get the true picture though. Look for more on it and during. Some foreign journalists were seen filming some of the vagrants in the city of POS that the government FAILED to 'put away' just before the beginning of the Summit. More on that is here: Source 6
After reading what both of you posted I hope that a lot of the media can get behind the scenes and show the world the real picture of your island. Maybe that will light a fire under the PMs backside so that changes are made.
Rather off topic, but... Thanks for moving that last reply to a new thread |
I'm watching the Summit live and so far the President's of Argentina and Nicaragua have spoken and they are both heavily attacking the USA. Points they were attacking included the invasion of Central and South American sovereignty, the use of capitalism to decide the economics of countries not part of the g20, and so forth.
The Argentine President said (paraphrasing):
QUOTE |
"Look at a new starting point ... Based not on subordination but on coordination and cooperation ... Integration but not intervention." She urged Pres. Obama for the immediate lifting of embargo against Cuba from the US which she described as "anachronism". |
Pres. Obama's message was as usual - change, acknowledging the willingness to work with Cuba, etc. Unlike the President of Nicaragua, Pres. Obama kept his message to the point and short.
Now on with the end speaker - Manning. What the heck is wrong with Manning talking about corn soup at Curepe during the Summit of the Americas - gosh - make us look primitive more "nah!".
Obama, Chavez Shake Hands at Summit of the Americas
President Obama shook hands with Venezuela's Hugo Chavez on Friday at the opening of the Summit of the Americas being held this weekend in Trinidad and Tobago. Photos released by the Venezuelan government show Obama clasping Chavez's hand and smiling broadly, and Venezuela quoted Chavez as saying, "I'd like to be your friend," while noting that he shook President Bush's eight years ago.
