Adoption Dilemma - Adopting Children

If you adopted a child who turned out to be very insolent, unwilling to learn anything, constantly challenged your authority and started to threaten your life, would you return him / her to the orphanage or adoption agency? What are your views on this?

You know my children then?

Seriously though, many people face this dilemma on a daily basis, we personally have this problem with our adopted children, and spend many days being called in to school, on one occasion my daughter was sent home for bad behavior.

We personally would never send either of our children back, but not because we are blinkered, we know that the prospectss are that the police will probably be on our doorstep on a daily basis when at least our Son reaches his teenage years.

Many adopters choose to end the adoption, but the damage that this causes to the child is gastronomical, it is another person in their life who has abandoned them!

I think that if you have chosen to adopt, then that is for life, and the only exception to this is if the adopted child poses a threat to either yourself, your partner or children by dangering their lives...just my humble opinion.

I would have to see what type of threat it is that they possibly could cause. I would have a long talk with them and let them know that this type of behavior is not normal. I think overtime we would make some headway to keep them from harming others or themselves. I myself can be quite violent. I would use some of my own experiances in letting the child no what is right and what is wrong. What is expected of them and what we would not accept. I would however, no matter how tough the going gets, ever send a child back to the place they came from.
