No, not at all -- at least not around these parts. Fruit cocktail is simply diced fruit in sweet syrup, usually canned. Fruit salad is diced and sliced fresh fruit stirred up with whipped cream, and with sliced pecans or walnuts. Yum!

Can be if you have the market for it. Looks like you're in the tropics so it shouldn't be difficult. You have to consider spoilage if you're making fruit salads. Cocktails last longer if done right.
