More than 2,000 weapons were found in schools in England and Wales in the two years to 2017, according to figures from police forces. A fifth of those, according to the Press Association, were knives or blades, with police chiefs saying there had been a "Worrying" increase in possession. Among the more unusual weapons discovered were samurai swords. Ref. Source 1o.
The article said it's a worrying trend and wonders why children are bringing weapons to school. It's because down deep many humans are violent. We come from hunter stock, it is in our DNA. We suppress that with all of our modern technology and talk about how advanced we are. But I have to wonder how much fighting our urge to hunt, built over 100,000 years or more of DNA selection, is hurting us psychologically. I mean, we've only been this civilized for a few hundred years or even less.
Less than that if you look at history. Here in the USA it is less than 100 years since we got complete control and of the land and even then it was still mainly a frontier in a lot of places where violence was often the rule. In the European countries it was less than 200 years ago when they stopped getting rid of their violent peoples by sending them elsewhere. Even today you can go to places on this planet where violence rules over all else and civilization as many Americans know if a dream.
