Giving Your Baby Pesticide / Poison

I was just watching something on TV where it was said that if you work with pesticides (in the garden) and chemicals / detergents (household cleaning) on a daily basis or for instance often enough that it is part of your routine, then you CAN pass trace amounts to your baby through her skin.

It is improtant that you do not casually wash your hands, but thoroughly wash your hands before even touching baby. This is especially important if you are doing household cleaning with these chemicals and suddenly need to attend to your baby if she cries, etc. Just quickly washing your hands and tunning to see about baby will not do - you could be passing over chemicals that can impair their growth in some way - think about it - I know I will!

This is true, and not just on your own skin, but on your clothes too. I've used the spray chemicals on my roses and lawn and had the wind blow it back on me, and of course it's from head to toe. So it's important in these instances to change clothes and even shower, if you're able to, before handling a small child.
