Case: 02

The Dice Master says...

Case 02: Hit & Run

Victim / Case Type:

Hit & Run - Julian Whiterspoon

Situation:

In a farming community on a strip of road about one mile from a diner the body of a young man, probably in his teens, was discovered about 20 feet from the road in an open field by some passers by. You are called to the scene to see a badly distorted body on the ground that is both bloody and broken. It seems as though the crime has not been older than an hour.

For the results of a forensic investigation:
Cost: 2 FP https://www.bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index.php?act=tip1

The Scene

There are skid marks on the ground that swerve one way and then to the next - most likely it was left by a heavy truck. You find some foot prints about 30 feet away from where the boy is located and they match his sneakers.

Probable Cause

It looks like a hit and run, but all the belongings of the victim seem to be spread all over the field as though someone was looking for something that he had.

Suspects

There are no immediate suspects other than the people (an elderly couple - Joneston) that actually reported it, but you do not see anything confusing about their story of coming from a Diner after dinner and then returning home before dark to see the body in the field.

Deeper Profiles:
Cost: 10 FP https://www.bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index.php?act=tip2

Notes Gathered

* The Diner is one of the last stops for truckers for another twenty miles

Observations at Diner:
Cost: 50 FP https://www.bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index.php?act=tip3

A hunch/ interrogation:
Cost: 500 FP https://www.bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index.php?act=tip4

What is required from you

1. Say who murdered the victim and why - you must be very accurate.
2. Why the boy was found in the plains 20 feet from the road - you can be close to a reason as possible.

Close date for this case:

You must submit your findings BEFORE this date:

25 July, 2005

Correction

I just noticed that the solve date for this case said '25 April, 2005', which was incorrect so the date has been moved to '25 July, 2005'. Remember you do NOT have to be an upgraded member to participate in this RPG.

So, let me see if I understand.

There was no one who posted an answer so you closed the board BUT if we would like to solve it, we can send you the answer via the contact page and it will reinstate (at your convenience of course! wink.gif ) the RPG?

If that has changed since the board was closed (3 years almost) please let me know. Either way, I will be happy. It just looked like something I would like to try.

Thanks!

I can't even remember the solution for this case. I may open up these kinds of cases later, for now see the other latest Thread where you find clues and test your Detective Skills by viewing a picture, etc.
