I am surprised no one has tackled this Thread yet considering that current war tactics dictate that if you rule the skies you rule the war. The US has so far been very successful in their invasions because of air attacks which can hit with pin point precision. Now, consider a satellite that can do something from even higher up - now that is real power. Place that power in the hands of your enemy and we are talking something VERY serious here.

With China working so hard on getting more and more into space I think it will be both helpful and harmful to all. Granted the whole space race to have the best weapon for blowing ourselves up is the bad part because everyone knows we keep spending countless amounts of money on inventing new and exciting ways to kill each other.

On the good side I think this will stimulate scientific growth that will allow us to take some nice steps to being able to explore more of the solar system we are in and maybe even explore the possibilities of a permanate colony on the moon and mars.
