Have you seen the documentary on NGC called "Science of Armored Cars" where they show you how military grade Armored Cars are made? They take regular looking cars and alter it with Alpine Armoring and many James Bond like features. SUVs are normally the recommended vehicles for armoring, but of course they can 'fit' and car.

I know they like to do SUVs the best because they have the heavier suspension for the armour. I like the solid rubber tires to prevent tires from being shot out.
