School is 'the last moral force'
Children from chaotic homes only have schools to teach right from wrong, say head teachers.

I think all schools are feeling this all over the world. Broken homes, parents that show no care and other situations can lead a child to the point of not knowing what to do in any given situation. Then they play games that show violence or hang out with violent children and they will come to view that as the norm. I think the schools are hard pressed to show some children that there is a right way and a wrong way of doing things. Parents who leave it to the schools are just making sure that there is going to be a violent aspect of our communities in the years to come.
Catholic schools in the Uk have the best pass rates and education out of all the schools, bringing thousands of families who would not usually be Catholic, to have their children baptized into the Catholic faith to entitle them to the Catholic education!
It doesn't surprise me therefore that parents are leaving it up to the Catholic education authority to teach right from wrong to their children. I think it's a case of they feel that the Catholic schools are going to give their children a fully rounded education, and full moral upbringing.
Because the education chosen is religious, I believe this is why many parents feel it's the Churches problem and not theirs to instill right from wrong in their own children.
