I don't know how anybody suggesting 38+ pupils in a class is ok can expect to be taken seriously!
Your own common sense tells you that pupils struggling are not going to get much help at a personal level when there are so many other children to tend to in the class.

I think that large numbers in classes occur when there are no school places are available in the area, or in inner city areas where the number of children outgrow the number of places, but even so, I don't think large numbers like this are acceptable, and I'm sure thousands of other parents don't find this acceptable either.

Most classes in my area would have around 25 children, rising in some cases to 30, but beyond this, I think you would find parents kicking up a stink.
