It would not bother me in the least if we find out that he is actually the father of our spirits. I believe he has mine in his care now I am just renting it for a bit.

Perhaps God is pure energy. E=MC2 (and I am not talking about Mariah Carey's new CD). All mass would come from the energy (you, me, the dirt). You cannot touch energy, but you can see its results. Maybe he is the limitless source of energy that sparked all that is and all that will be? Would it bother me to find out that he doesn't look like me... No, because most here on earth dont look like me as I look at it. Does that mean that he is not my creator? I dont think that is a fair assumption either.

Our Father Who Art In Heaven? Revealed Bible The

I suppose I am very Materialistic in my spirituality.

When the Bible says "in his image" I take this somewhat literally.

I do this because of the Scripture:

QUOTE

he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father

I believe Christ was resurrected with his body on the Third day and took his body into Heaven (Which I believe the Bible gives no evidence that he does not have it now). I further believe the Christ is in the express image of his Father (thus the proclamation if you have seen me you have seen the Father.) I could not worship an Energy, which seems very impersonal.

According to my thought process I would assume the following:
I would think that if God and Christ are in image similar, and if we are in the image of Christ and God then He must be Corporeal, or Christ must have discarded his Resurrected Body.

I tend to believe that I am worshiping a Literal Father in Heaven who I could have the possibility of conversing and embracing in the hereafter.

I must I agree with you that we will be able to hug God in the afterlife. I have never been able to convince my self on the materialistic side as energy can be made solid when required. I often thought the image is that of a being with free choice and our physical looks and a spirit. I think the physical body is dropped but no real reason for it.

Also God promised us we can be as in heaven on earth if we try hard.

Out of curiosity, would it bother you if he did look like you (not you specifically, but if he had two arms, two legs, eyes a mouth, was male, occupied a certain space)?

I think some Christians would find the image of an anthropomorphic (human like appearance and attributes) God highly disturbing, while others just assume that this is the way God is (I.e. Jesus, who received a Body of flesh and Bones after he was resurrected.)
