Grades Childs Your Blamed

My son blew a few grades in his science class and phys ed this term. His teacher did point her finger at me, which I kindly grabbed and broke in two.

Yes parents are there is ensure children do their work. The child also is responsible for their work or lack of it. In this case my son made the poor choice of not participating in morning exercise so received 3 of 15 marks for it. Fair enough he will not make that mistake again I will assure you. He refused to dance every morning to hip hop music. I can understand that he dislikes it but like I told him just do it then go complain daily on the music or exercise being performed.

In the Science class the were to hand in 15 atricles each term first term he did it second term he did not. Then he also failed to produce a report on tigers. He oddly enough thought play time was more important at none years of age, big surprise. This is where the teacher finger pointed at me and was border line rude. I looked at her and simply stated I guess he made a bad choice then. I then follwed up with why where we not informed formaly that he had missed these assignments? Her reply well we sen the sheets home with him. Shock they boy who though out the assignment in the first place dumped the follow up letter. I asked her if she thought such a thing just might be the case and she said no it was just me ignoring the letter. The resolution was she must call me to find out why any assiengment is not handed in in the future. I felt like I was dealing with a child not a teacher.

So yes parent are responsible for poor grades in that the teacher and parent should be working to ensure the child is doing what they should. If the child is then not understanding the work extra help can be given by the parent and teacher. Ultimately though the child is responsible to get the work done accurately by asking for help if required.

My parents where so kind that dad laugh for almost ten minutes when I told him what occurred. Then accused me of the apple not falling far from the tree. I was so bad in doing only what was required and no more. So could I be the reason for him being this was instinctively maybe.

I do not think the parent is held responsible on a childs grades after they have finished the 8th grade. I feel this way because my kids all had great grades going into high school. A couple of them still have great grades while a a couple others do not and refuse to do their work. One dropped out of school but ended up getting her GED and is working now. She would have graduated this year. The middle boy is taking after her it seems. We have told him she had to get a GED and study hard to get it. She just got it last year and now she is working. Why he thinks not having a education is gonna get him places I do not know. We have talked to his teachers. He does great on tests and quizzes but does not want to turn in any work. So he knows the stuff. He just chooses to not get good grades and now has to retake some classes.
