People ran out of their offices today when they saw a very large jet get very close to buildings reminding them of the 9/11 attacks. Apparently the FAA authorized the plane to fly lo over New York City in order to take pictures.

Jet flyover in lower Manhattan sets off panic

NEW YORK - One of the president's official planes and a supersonic fighter jet zoomed past the lower Manhattan skyline in a flash just as the work day was beginning Monday. Within minutes, startled financial workers streamed out of their offices, fearing a nightmarish replay of Sept. 11. Ref. Source 2

This was scaring a lot of people in New York City. You can see on some tapes people actually running on the streets from terror especially seeing a fighter jet just behind the plane, and guess what the reply of the White House was:

I like the fact that the government never seems to know what is going on at times and at other times they just do not want people to know what they are doing. I think this display was something that most people would call a big time blunder on the part of the government.

More Than an Apology Is Needed

That 747 flyover of an Air Force one for a pathetic glamour pic (that could have been photo shopped for no cost) demands more than an apology. President Obama demanded of his Cabinet that they cut costs"¦what about him? What about the White House? So, in addition to an apology to the terrified New Yorkers for this stunt"¦.the President needs to [...] Ref. Source 5

If I were there and heard all of this was just for a photo shoot I would have been flippin mad. I mean am mad now about it. I was even more mad about the casual way Obama handled it with "it won't happen again" while grinning and shrugging it off. People need an apology for the insensitivity of this.

We will not get an apology for this stunt because he really can care less about the common people. HE only cares about the electorial college that got him elected.

There was one specific angle where Air Force One could be seen going behind a building very closely followed by a fighter than really brought chills even though I was not in New York City at the time I remember being in Baltimore City in a health clinic when it happened. So profound was 9/11 that I'm sure most of us can remember exactly what we were doing that day. This mistaken fly over brought back that day to many people and all the ones they lost.
