Saddam Paid for Lawmaker's Trip to Iraq
If this is true, should it be considered treasonous or giving support and comfort to the enemy? Or should the Lawmakers be applauded for trying to curtail what they thought was a dangerous situation?

If they would have approached the president and said that they are able to contact and negotiate with Saddam, then one could justify their actions.
I am unclear on the exact timing. If they went to see the leader of a country that war has been declared on then they should have stayed at home. As such then they should be hung for treason.
