As a parent are you often judged or blamed for your child's special needs?

Certainly, it is very obvious when we are out when one of our children goes into a temper that is above and beyond children of their own age, you can see people literally shaking their heads or tutting, a few have even said things like 'shameful behavior', and the glares and dirty looks that you get from people it is very obvious that they are very ignorant and are blaming us as parents.

I have to admit that a couple of times it has really got to me, and I've had to bite my tongue so that I haven't retaliated back with something..at the end of the day it's nothing to do with anybody, and most people I'll never meet again anyway.

When our first son was younger people thought we were weird for not allowing him to go to school with everyone else or bring him over to their house to play, etc. It is only now SOME see why we did that, but you will never convince all, because they do not know what it is like to raise a special needs child.
