That is a bit more than what he would need for personal consumption. If he were, the maximum sentence he could get would be 2 years. However, from reading the article it looks to me like he was growing enough for distribution. In Britain the maximum sentence for distribution of cannabis is 14 years, so perhaps he will pay the price.
