Radical Catholicism

Radical Catholicism

I recently started a Thread about Radical Islam which is known by most of the world today, but is there also any form of 'Radical Catholicism'? If so, how do we define it?

Catholicism Radical

Oh yes, there were Radical Catholics. The timing was for several hundreds of years, but the most bloody were those from about 1090 to 1290 (the Crusades). It really doesn't get a whole lot more radical than at that time.

As for today, the Catholic Church is quite different. There is still a separation (although a bit more peaceful today) between Protestant and Catholic Northern Ireland. At times, some might have called that Radical Catholicism/Protestant practices. We have Opus Dei becoming a personal prelature to Pope JPII and they are rather radical for Catholics.

However, there really isn't a group of catholics that are waging a war to convert the non-believers over by force as there was during the Crusades. Catholicism of today is rather peaceful.
