You mean peasants were shot in the back as they tried to leave the front lines of cannon fotter.
2nd world war Russia isn't known for their honor on the battle field. Russia was invaded and desperate. For them it was a just war. Their "powerful soldiers were behind the lines shooting the untrained teenagers and old men that paniced". I am not qualified enough to call them cowards but I don't think the deserters were powerful soldiers.
It doesn't matter how you die as long as you think for yourself and do what you feel is right. That is self empowerment. Getting shot by you fellow soldiers because you don't want to murder or rape is a powerful soldier in my opinion. It happened all the time in Vietnam. I would hope that I would have that courage, but I have never been in that situation.

Forgive my words. I should have said "walks away form an unjust war of aggression". Meaning that the soldier is in an unjust war in someone elses backyard. You finally got me on something.

Yes that is true. Bush is a good example of this. A powerful soldier in an Evil way, but he is a bad speaker. HE did read a couple of scripts well enough though.

The American Patriots were protesters. They did not blindly follow the tyrannical english government, but protested it. Our freedom was won by protester. A peaceful protest is fine, and sometimes violent ones are nessecary. That is what makes America great. G. Washington was a powerful soldier leading powerful soldiers that won our freedom and independence for many years.
We have lost more of our freedoms in these past wars for oil. Our soldiers are told that they are fighting for our freedom when in fact they are fighting for the Elites that want to dominate the world no matter how much it costs the serfs (us).
Protests are fine. Remember the tea party?
You might want to face the fact that Bush doesn't walk and talk with God, and is probably not doing his bidding. That does take some courage.
