Can Man See God?

Based on the Bible is it really possible for man to see God in the flesh?

Exodus 33:23
23. And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

God Man Can

I don't believe it is possible for us to see God during our time here on earth, but I believe, hope and look forward to seeing him, in the flesh, when his chosen people are raptured into the heavens with Him. Then, and only then, will we be able to walk and talk with Him, as we do with people today, and then will we be able to learn from Him whatever our hearts and minds desire.

It was such a huge thing for a person to see God's face. In the Bible,if I recall correctly, there were only two beings who saw God in the flesh and survived: Adam and Jacob. God walked with Adam in the garden, and after Jacob fought with him, he was shown a piece of him. That alone was enough to stir up Jacob.

As for now, I don't think we can see him in the flesh. I don't think we, as a sinful people, could handle seeing him in the flesh. Just as we can never fully comprehend in a tangible world how much God loves us, I don't think we could even manage to see something so perfect.

I do believe, though, that we can see God all around us in His creations. Every morning the sun is out, or even in the rain, I believe God is all around us, showing us how amazing his power is. I believe we can feel him in our hearts if we don't shut him out, as well as feeling him in the love from our families and friends.

I cannot wait until the day in Heaven where I do get to look upon the face of Jesus, and kneel at his feet. I cannot wait to spend eternity singing praises to my God with all my brother's and sister's next to me.

And why did Moses hide his face? Because, the Bible tells us,

In seven verses of the Bible, Gods, and Lords, and angels are all in the same burning bush, all interchangeable, just three different titles for a man they thought was their God. Who did Moses see in the burning bush? His God.

Other passages where God was seen as a man.

Jacob wasn't having a vision. He wrestled with a real person all night. Then his adversary

This contest is probably the only account of a man wrestling with a god and winning. God created heaven and earth in five days. Then on the sixth day, He created a man He couldn't beat in a wrestling match. He had to resort to trickery, dislocating Jacob's thigh to get away. I can see the headlines, "Mortal Pins God In Close Match."
Jacob wrestled in the dark with someone he couldn't see, but seventy-four Israelites had time to gaze on God. The Bible mentions nothing unusual except sapphire tilework. The elders recognized feet, not unusual feet, just human feet like theirs on clear tile.

Moses was very familiar with God. He must have seen God often, because he was trusted throughout the house. Was there fancy communications by mental telepathy? No. God had a face and spoke to Moses plainly, in a language he could understand.

The God of the Jews was seen time after time as a male human being. Moses was his best friend. Do you know why you think no one was allowed to see God?

I would like to know why you think that man cannot see God today. Your information makes it clear that God could be seen by man in Old Testament times. Why not today?

Can Man See God?

I haven't seen God. I don't know anyone that has seen God.

After the golden calf incident, He was seen briefly by Josue, but did not appear again in person for six hundred nineteen years, when He appeared to Solomon, and was never seen again. The people received God's word from prophets, and Samuel heard His voice in the night, but the God of the Jews was never seen again.

I found that when God had all the gold and silver, He had no use for Israel. When they wanted Him to get them out of trouble one more time, He told them He had saved them time and again, only to have them worship other gods, then said, "

He created the nation of Israel and after 1575 years He was never seen again.

Can Man God

My understanding is thus... God appears to whom He will (to say he cannot is to limit Him), but when He does visit, it is necessary that the person visited receives a message of Salvation of some sort or in other words... God does not visit just for fun.

I understand the concept of people mixing up angels with God himself, we can read a lot of these in the Near Death Experiences Board, but at the same time I doubt that an angel will knowingly lead a man astray unless that angel is not from God. Keep in mind that the New Testament clearly outlines...

Is there a place in the Bible that clearly tells us how to tell real angels from false angels?

Why do you think Stephen could see the Son of man when a mob couldn't? If they could have seen what he saw would they have stoned him? Wouldn't they have stood in awe? Why, if God was so close he could be seen, did he not protect Stephen?
