India Traditions Different

Based on some of the messages I saw you confirm I have to say that it does make India look very backward. I know India has nuclear technology and many advancements, but at the same time she worries over the color of the skin, dowry and I know there is big unequal balance in poor to rich with no in between.

Yes , India is still under developed country. Even though it was developed in some aspects like Educational Strategy , Nuclear Technology as u said , Software and Hardware technology...but in spite of that because of the religious values it will bit of back of others....
I don t know clearly...these religious values makes India...sometimes more respected nation. which one correct?

I think like any other country, India has traditions that make the country a respected nation as well as other traditions that I personally find unbelievable such as the skin color issue (not sure if to call it a "tradition") but is definetely rooted in the Indian Society.

I live in a country with a high population of East Indian descendants and some of the traditions are something to admire while others leave me with a bitter taste in my mouth.
