I am not sure they have to prove that all the kids were in danger. IF you prove that many were lets say around 200 or half because they were female were in danger or had been abused would normally qualify you to take all the children and make sure the others had not or were not in danger. |

I just hope they can look past this and see that not all LDS is like this. |
I got that from some comments I heard at the store the thursday. Seems some people are saying that the FLDS in Texas gots it doctrine from the LDS churchs. I know they are separate. You know they are separate but I do not think the masses know the difference. I do hope they educate themselves.
Normally if one child is threatened in a home the state will remove all children from that home to make sure that the others are safe too. If it is one child in a home with 7 children the state will not only remove the one but all seven until such a time as they are assured the others are not abused like the one making the initial complaint. I think this is what Texas did.

SAN ANTONIO - In a crushing blow to the state's massive seizure of children from a polygamist sect's ranch, the Texas Supreme Court ruled Thursday that child welfare officials overstepped their authority and the children should go back to their parents. ADVERTISEMENT The high court affirmed a decision by an appellate court last week, saying Child Protective Services failed to show an immediate danger to the more than 400 children swept up from the Yearning For Zion Ranch nearly two months ago. "On the record before us, removal of the children was not warranted," the justices said in their ruling issued in Austin. The high court let stand the appellate court's order that Texas District Judge Barbara Walther return the children from foster care to their parents. It's not clear how soon that may happen, but the appellate court ordered her to do it within a reasonable time period. The ruling shatters one of the largest child-custody cases in U.S. history. State officials said the removals were necessary to end a cycle of sexual abuse at the ranch in which teenage girls were forced to marry and have sex with older men, but parents denied any abuse and said they were being persecuted for their religious beliefs.... |
What we are looking for now is a law suit against the State of Texas for MILLIONS for wrongfully taking children. Now the FLDS is going to be richer than ever!

Texas can't hold 'em: Supreme court says state erred in taking children SAN ANGELO, Texas - Plans are being made to return children seized in the raid on the Fundamentalist LDS Church's YFZ Ranch to their parents after a ruling by the Texas Supreme Court devastated the case by child welfare authorities against the polygamous sect. Why is the Judge involved in the case delaying the whole process? She could have perfectly signed the needed papers and then the mothers could have sign it (not the other way around).

SAN ANGELO, Texas (CNN) -- A Texas judge on Friday refused to sign an order returning more than 300 children seized from a polygamist community, saying she wanted the mothers involved to sign the order first. Members of the Fundamental Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints decried Judge Barbara Walther's decision, which followed a Texas Supreme Court ruling that the removals were unwarranted. "The kids have been terrorized and put in the custody of the state for weeks and weeks," FLDS spokesman Willie Jessop said Friday after the hearing to determine how to return the children. "Every effort has been made to bring relief," Jessop said outside the courthouse. "It doesn't need to be a problem to go pick up the kids. It doesn't need to be any more difficult than picking them up after school." The 3rd District Court of Appeals ruled this month that officials with Child Protective Services erred in removing the children from the Yearning for Zion Ranch near Eldorado, Texas, effectively overturning Walther's ruling that the children remain in state custody... |
Now that the Judge gave the ok for the kids to be returned to the parents, the leader of the FLDS Church will set a new policy which will forbid any girl to marry who is not old enough to legally consent in the state where she lives.

FLDS children can't get enough hugs
"He's so excited. We're all excited and happy," Sarah says, pulling her eldest daughter, 13-year-old Rebekah, or Becca, closer to her side. "We're so thankful we have the children back. That's what matters." It's been a long two months since Texas authorities raided the YFZ Ranch and took every child from the 1,700-acre, self-sustaining community on allegations of abuse and neglect.

Beware of FLDS enforcers, Texas told
Texas police have been standing guard outside the home of the Texas judge who ordered the removal of all the FLDS children from the YFZ Ranch. The heightened security was ordered after authorities from Utah and Arizona warned them to be on the lookout for FLDS "enforcers," the Deseret News has learned.
