US man gets $2.6m for domain name
A US man sell the domain name pizza.com for $2.6m - after maintaining it for $20 a year since 1994.

Maybe someone expert in this area can help me understand why a "Pizza.com" would possibly be worth that amount of money? Doesn't the .com and other names just point you to a web site? Couldn't there be a dozen other names just point you to the same web site?
If the .com is worth that much would pizza.net and pizza.org also be worth the same amount?
