So you are eating at the parking lot and you are taking more than 45 minutes to eat? Then you could face a fine for abusing parking privileges. I know some people may see this as harsh but I think if people are indeed abusing the space that is needed for other customers then something must be done about it.

That's the message some stores and fast-food establishments, including McDonald's, is giving its customers in England. At 40 McDonald's there, drive-thru customers are given 45 minutes to finish their meal and leave the parking lot before a $225 ticket is issued, The Guardian reported. The restrictions were put in place because people were abusing parking privileges at the establishments, a spokeswoman for McDonald's told The Guardian. If customers decide not to pay the fine, the fee rises and they are threatened with court action, the newspaper reported. |
Serves them right if they lose all their customers as far as I'm concerned!
I'm sure it would make more sense to be able to have say an hour, (sometimes we've been in a 'drive thru 'queue for half an hour) and have a receipt to produce stating time etc. Anybody taking up the spaces and not eating there should be targeted for the fines as I see it!
