Google caught collecting SS numbers
A contest for kids has been changed by Google after it was discovered that in order to enter the contest (Doodle-4-Google), kids and parents had to provide the last four digits of the drawer's social security number AND the contestant's birth year/city. France fines Google in Street View data case
France's data protection regulator has fined Google 100,000 euros (NZ$193,000) for collecting private data from wireless networks when its camera-equipped cars gathered footage for its on-line map service Street View. Ref. Source 8
