I have no problem with people who want to date a convict. As with love most need to feel wanted too. I believe that there is someone out there for everyone even if you are a convict. Maybe they will meet someone who can help them in life and be able to make amends for their past crimes.

When people are incarcerated, society automatically stigmatizes them. There are innocent people who are behind bars and unfortunately, they are labelled along with the other criminals. Having a website for a convict raises serious concerns for all. A website does not guarantee that all the information that is submitted is truthful. Any gullible human being may log onto to this website and may be "duped" by what they read about the convicts. I am very concerned about young individuals who are too trusting and willing to believe everything they see and read. Some of these criminals are masters of manipulation and I shudder to think, how they would take advantage of naive individuals by pretending to be innocent and was, "convicted of a crime that they did not commit!" What makes this website so dangerous is, naive individuals may not understand the criminal's mind as well as the authorities, who are responsible for putting them behind bars. I have read stories about criminals manipulating people, in giving them money and even providing assistance, in getting them out of jail.

It is important to remember that, most of these convicts are behind bars for a reason: they failed to conform to the rules and regulations of the society and therefore, they should be treated as dangerous, even when they are jail.

Dating Prison

I understand KNtoran's point every one needs some one, but I think that should wait till they are out of jail. Like Geenie I fear that many young ladies will like the idea of dating a dangerous guy and end up in a life threatening relationship.

These ladies are also conned into dropping drug off for the prisoner and end up lead on a bad path for their life. They might end up there any how but I prefer not to give permission to a site that will be targeted by too many with that reasoning. I do feel bad for the innocents and those who would be helped by some one they would meet.

I do think though that if you are a productive self respecting person you are unlikely to start looking on a site like this to start. So we are most likely just setting it up for borderline criminals to get introduced to the hard core ones. Not a great formula.
