Women Get Paternal Clues in Men's Faces
CHICAGO - Women looking for a long-term relationship like men who like children - and they can tell which guys might be interested in becoming fathers just by looking at their faces. Those are among the findings of a study of college students published Wednesday in a British scientific journal.

I would say that there is quite a bit of truth in that, people can get a general vibe as to how other people react when they around children.
A woman who is looking for a long term relationship and to start a family, would in my opinion be crazy to settle down with a man who absolutely detests children.
I would pretty much be looking out for signs of how they treat animals too, but then that's just my opinion
What's interesting is, they couldn't pin down what exactly the clues were in the men's faces:

It is unclear just what about the men's faces tipped the women off about their interest in children. |
I know someone who disproves both rules that are mentioned here. First, he loves kids, and is very good around them. He just doesn't want any of his own. Secondly, he is a huge fan of dogs, and has 3 of his own, but once again, he absolutely will not have kids. Here's the kicker; he is married to a grade school teacher. Imagine that relationship if you will. She loves kids and being around kids, and has openly admitted to wanting kids. She married him knowing he did not want kids, figuring she could change him somehow. He is one of my best friends, in fact, he was the best man at my wedding. He is great with my kids, but is very adamant about not having children of his own. This has caused a lot of friction in their marriage, needless to say.
True, there are exceptions to every rule. I would guess that he really doesn't like kids all that well. He may be "good" with them when he's around them, but that doesn't mean he likes them.
Well, the fact that he let her know up front and she married him anyway, that's her own fault. There are some things men don't lie about, and that's one of the top ones. I feel bad for his wife, though.
