End of the World Discussion - Can computers and statistics tell us what might likely happen in 2012? Will there be an end world happening on a scientific level?

There are so many doomsday prophecies that they are largely ignored now well at least by me. Remember Y2K and all the others in between? If something is going to happen at that level then why start worrying about it from now... We won't be around any way.
