Enlarged Prostate vs. Prostate Cancer
What is the difference between an Enlarged Prostate vs. Prostate Cancer?
Enlarged prostrate:
Benign prostatic hyperplasia - is the actual name for it. The prostate is what controls seminal fluid and is located at he neck of the bladder and the urethra tube. If it swells the person can not control the bladder valve and as such you urinate more often and are at risk for infections since the hole does not close. Kidney damage is also associated with this.
It is usually treated with drug that can cause disappointment in the erectile factor for men. It is very low and has less side effect then the operation that can be done. it is only when they think the urinary track will be blocked that they operate.
Good news here is watch your diet and this is a much lower potential of happening. I do believe it is around 50% of older men who get this. So for me that is in the next 10 years.
The best exercise for this is real easy walk a few hours every week. It reduce 20 or 30 percent your chance of getting it.
It is suspected to be linked to the drop in testosterone in men at the age 50. So guy eat that fish and start by passing the red meats more often. We are wise to boost the stars out of our good cholesterol which makes testosterone. This and regular exercise besides walking with keep you and the misses happy.
Now some herbs that have been linked in helping to fight it are:
SAW PALMETTO
Parsley
Zinc 30 mg but must take copper 3-5 mg with it as zinc stips you body of copper.
SEVEN BARKS (Hydrangea)
Spanish Fly
Picrate of Iron
Black Thorn
golden rod.
Four of the better and tested product I found are:
Prostacet
Prostate Dr
Avistate
Prostate Care
Now onto the other part cancer or the prostrate.
Is just that cancer in the prostrate tissue. It is treated the same as all cancers.
The difference is the swelling occurs due to the uncontrolled cancer cells where enlarged prostrate is a chemical build in the cells causing the swelling. Both are serious and need treatment.
I also understand high protein intake is not great on the prostrate also. Me I am startng this year to change more eating habits. Heck the high testosterone levels are my goal any how. Keep the energy meter at top.
I thought I would place this here since it is directly related. When you go in for your yearly does your doctor even check your prostrate? I understand at 40 on once should be having this done. I think it was a woman who come up with this.
Surgery improves survival rates for men with prostate cancer if radiation treatments fail
Approximately 14 percent of men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point in their lifetimes. Radiation therapy traditionally has been a primary treatment for the cancer, but one-fourth of men have a recurrence of prostate cancer within five years after the therapy. Now, a researcher has found that a complex procedure to remove the prostate achieves excellent long-term survival for men after radiation therapy has failed. Ref. Source 4z.
