What are your thoughts about this delightful dish?

1/2 c Shortening 1/3 c Brown sugar 1/2 c Light corn syrup 1 Egg 1 c Bran cereal (whole) 2 c Flour 1/4 ts Baking soda 1/2 ts Salt 1/2 c Strawberry jam Cream shortening and brown sugar, add corn syrup and egg. Beat well. Stir in cereal. Add flour, soda and salt. Press 1/2 of the dough evenly in bottom of 9x9x2 pan. Spread jam over top of dough. Between wax paper, flatten remaining dough and place ontop of Jam. Bake 375 for 20-25 minutes. |
