With the fourth of July coming up, it makes me think of my favorite holiday. My question to everyone is, what's your favorite holiday and why? Also, do you have a least favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday:
Actually all the holidays are my favorite. ;D But to just name of couple of them. The first one is Halloween, because my children love getting dressed up (as do I) and go trick or treating and then on to a halloween party.
My second favorite one is Christmas. For it is a reminder of the birth of baby Jesus. Also, I love decorating my home and putting up the tree, taking the kids to see Santa, and all of that holiday cheer. :)
My least favorite holiday:
I really don't have one. All of my holidays are pretty cool. We just end up doing a lot of traveling to visit with my husband's family and my family.
My favourite holiday is of course Christmas time, it's such a great time to think about the Savior and the things He has done for us.
And also when I was in the USA I loved the idea of 'Thanksgiving Day', I think is such a wonderful holiday to share with our families and friends and thank God for all his blessing. I loved that holiday...(yeah, and the turkey too ) LOL
well just about all the holidays are my favorite i enjoy all of them, well except 1 and that would bring up my least favorite which is st paddys day i just get sooo :fury: when i get pinched for not wearing any thing green lol
My favorite holiday is Christmas, I just love this time of year, even though you can't get in any of the shops, and everyone starts getting a bit stressed out.
I especially enjoy sharing time with my family, and of course Christmas dinner!
My worst favorite is Halloween, I don't mind kids knocking on the doors, but we don't celebrate Halloween, and I think that it's quite a dangerous time of year. 9there have been a lot more attacks/murders on this night, as people have dressed up in a costume, committed a crime, and then mingled in with other Halloweeners.
I have mixed feelings on this. I love Christmas for certain reasons, especially that it stands for celebrating Christ and His birth. I enjoy the religious aspects of the season, the music, and the joy it brings to young children. However, as hard as I try to make it not so, the hype and commercialism always get out of control for me. My husband is the shopper in our family, and though I appreciate his giving spirit, he always goes way overboard in his enthusiasm for gift giving. Work is also very stressful this time of year, as I work for the US Postal Service. My least favorite would be my birthday. I wouldn't mind skipping this one indefinitely.
My favorite holiday:
Would be halloween because you can dress up and have fun while spending time with friends or family or both.
My least favorite holiday:
Would be Christmas, not because of jesus' birthday but because of how it has become what it is now. Yes we should celebrate it but not with everyone getting presents. We should celebrate it with a solemn vow to god.
First would be New Year's Eve ~ the craziness of Christmas is over, reviewing the year just past is always a learning experience, and the anticipation of the year to come is very exciting.
Then 4th of July ~ I love the picnics, fireworks, barbeques, backyard games, kids with popsicles, live bands, craft shows, and the time to remember and celebrate that we are (still) a free country.
I have to agree with most of the posts here. My favourite time of the year is also Christmas. It is a time for us to reflect on the love Christ brought into this world. Unfortunately, Christmas has become so commercialized and emphasis is placed on how much food to eat and how expensive your gifts should be. I also enjoy the "Parang" here in Trinidad. My favourite group was Las Flores de San Jose with Sharlene Flores. But unfortunately, I do not know what became of her. I think she must have emigrated. Does anyone know?
