DAMIAN Subrian began selling off his assets so he could emigrate with his family to England. His drive was sparked by the country's spiralling crime rate.

However, the heinous crimes Subrian was running from caught up with him yesterday.

Around 2.15 p.m. The 36-year-old real estate agent was fatally shot when he ran to the assistance of a female friend in trouble.

Police reports are that Subrian, from Bayshore, Westmoorings, went to visit the home of a friend at Belle Vue estate on Ariapita Road in St Ann's.

That friend is said to be the daughter of NH International Caribbean executive chairman Emile Elias. She was not at home at the time.

Reports are that Subrian was in the yard of the house when the maid screamed for help.

With his licensed glock 9mm in hand, Subrian ran into the house to help her.

Police believe Subrian, a regular at the Chaguaramas rifle range, froze when he came face to face with the assailant. The gunman did not.

Comments: This man's name is mis-spelt in the local news. He was Damian So'brien. The happenings in Trinidad are unbelievable and getting even more scary daily. I knew Damian from the time he was a little baby and it saddens me to know that he has left this World before his time.
