Jill Kelley, the Florida woman who reportedly received harassing e-mails from David Petraeus' biographer Paula Broadwell, is acknowledging her friendship with the former CIA director and asking for privacy. In a statement released Sunday night, Kelley says she and her family "have been friends with General Petraeus and his family for over five years." According to the Associated Press, which initially misidentified Kelley's employer, she serves as an unpaid social liaison to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. Ref. USAToday

David Petraeus says his resignation as CIA director is not tied to his upcoming testimony on the Benghazi attack. In an interview with CNN sister network HLN, Petraeus also denied sharing any classifed information with Paula Broadwell, the woman with whom he admitted having an affair.
The former CIA chief is scheduled to testify Friday before the House Intelligence Committee on the September 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya, that left four Americans dead, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
Petraeus resigned as CIA director over the extramarital affair he had with Broadwell, his biographer.
HLN's Kyra Phillips said of Petraeus: "He has insisted to me that he has never passed classified information to Paula Broadwell."
"As long as I have known him, he has never wavered on classified information ever. And to the best of my knowledge, you know, that has always been sacrosanct," she told HLN 's "Morning Express with Robin Meade." Ref. CNN
