Less Gas, More Power Regent Park's New System

Could this be a trend setter for new housing in Ontario?

What could the long term issues be? I think it is a great step in showing there is good viable and sustainable technologies out there that can be used to ease the burdens on our electrical grids. Air conditioning represents 60 to 80% of Ontario's load in the hottest days of summer. Reduce this load and now electric cars become viable again. Could this help stop the ozone deteriorating while reducing the need for oil adn free us from starvation?

I think it sure is a good step in doing just that. I just hope we see more of these large scale changes so that the residential owner (existing) Can have a shot at affordable geothermal heat.

I can not follow the link without it shutting my explorer down.

If you use geothermal energy as a way to help produce electricity then that is a useful way of reducing the use of coal or oil being used and can also be used to charge the electric car. I believe the electric car is a good way to go if your a commuter. The only problem with electric cars is the blind people can not hear them so you have to be extra careful if someone is getting ready to cross a street.

The idea of adding a whistle to the car would probably be the best thing. I have listened to a electric car drive past me and I could hardly hear a thing. I know I have lost over 25% hearing in one ear so it makes a difference. A soft whistling noise could help the blind. I hope that they do something. THe main thing is for drivers to pay attention and get off the cell phone while they drive so that notice that someone is crossing the street at the corner and they have the right of way.
