A man who served two years in prison for the rape of a young woman in central Christchurch has been freed after fresh DNA tests appear to exclude him from the crime.

I believe that any time that someone is arrested the police should collect a dna sample. I think a national database of DNA samples is needed to help agencies to solve crimes through DNA. I also think that anyone in the military and law enforcement field should give a sample of their DNA to go into this database. I am sure we can find and solve more crimes and make sure that the wrong person is not going to jails anymore.
