During testimony meetings, I try to pay close attention to what other brothers and sisters share. I would say 99% of them when they express their testimony they say "I know..." and then they go about saying that Christ lives and that the Church is true. But do they really KNOW? Or they BELIEVE? I think there is a huge difference between the two. Believing requires Faith and knowing is assurance so basically unless you have seen with your own eyes the Savior of the World, then you BELIEVE he lives, you don't "know".
There is no way they can "know" unless they have made their call and election sure
I know that Jesus Christ lives, not just believe. Yes we believe in things we cannot see, but just like in Moroni when we are asked to ask with a sincere heart having faith in Christ if these things are not true, he will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the holy ghost.. .. I have read I have prayed and pondered, and the holy ghost has revealed unto me that Jesus Christ lives and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that the church is true.
I know all those things are true!. .. I don't just believe the church is true, or that Christ lives, or that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. Your right there is a big difference.
Other churches belief in their faith, but I know what is true!
CM, unless you have made your call and election sure, you are just believing through faith no matter how strong it is hence you "believe", you don't "know".

Comments: There are some things I strongly believe, however, there are others that I know to be true with every fiber in my being. I know from personal revelation and through experience. My calling and election is far from being made sure, but that doesn't prevent me from having knowledge given to me by the Spirit.
