The DRC has a tremendous wealth in natural resources and a population large enough to exploit this wealth. But due to war, political mismanagement, and economic mismanagement, they have actually regressed since achieving their freedom in 1960. They have stalled elections for the last two years while the current leader clings to power. Wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few. While in this condition, the DRC has a bleak future indeed.
